Young & Beautiful

Taking images of teens is something close to my heart that’s why I’ve started including them in my portfolio. Why? Because I’m still a girl at heart. Ha! I remember when I was a teenager, I would use rolls of films and take endless photos of myself wearing  80’s outfits – think mum jeans and shoulder pads! Oh my goodness, those were the days. I thought I was the bee’s knees back then and now I shake my head when I think how crazy my fashion sense was.

I wish I was as cool as these girls when I was their age but most of all, I wish I had the same opportunity of having my photos taken by a professional photographer. Here are the three girls I’ve chosen from the Model Casting.

Kayla is kind of shy, very soft-spoken. It took quite a while for her to warmed up but I love that I was able capture her innocence and youth.

Hermes Belt, Valentino Shoes And A Lawn Mower

Everything seems to be going wrong at the beginning. I met Raffi and Ikram in a coffee shop near Al Shaheed Park because they wanted to do their session there. Unfortunately since it’s Ramadan, the park opens at ten in the morning which means it will be too hot to do it at that time. We were all disappointed when we went home. Later on she called me that they found another place where they want to do the session, that is, the Jumeira Hotel.

Look Good, Feel Good – Helping Women With Cancer

A couple of months ago, I saw a photo of a cancer patient having her make up done and getting ready for a photo shoot. I remember saying to myself that I would want to do something like that someday.

I love making people feel good about themselves that’s why I do what I do. I can’t even begin to tell you how I feel when I see the reaction of the people I’ve photographed.

To be able to do this to the women who have lost their confidence because their hair have fallen out from chemotherapy or had their breasts removed and are going through so much physical and emotional pain is the best opportunity I could think of to make somebody happy and let them forget about their fears even it’s only for a day. However I wasn’t sure how I could make it happen so I took a screenshot of the picture and saved it in one of my folders. I haven’t given much thought about it again until I bumped into somebody who I haven’t seen in a long time.asdr2 1

The most doted baby

This session was sweet on many levels. This time it’s the dad’s parents who came over to visit Eva. Grandma is super shy in front of the camera. I started with the two of them however she would freeze up as soon as I start taking pictures. The funny thing was Ashish their son was helping me direct them on how to pose. It was amusing to watch how after the fourth session, he’s now become a pro!

Tutu Girl

I absolutely love tutus! I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m so girly and vain. When I was growing up, I’ve always dreamed of doing ballet mainly because I wanted to wear tutus. It made me feel like a princess. Unfortunately, my parents had other priorities. I never outgrew that fantasy by the way. I would still wear one if I could! I’m crazy like that. Anyway, this pretty girl Sophia is very lucky that her mum makes tutus. She models and then mum sells them. For me this would have been the ultimate dream especially when it comes with cute accessories and different designs and colours.

Every Child is an Artist

Last week during the half term break, I hid the playstation and TV remote controls. My son Richard didn’t like it of course, he couldn’t do anything about it but he knew why I did it.

You are beautiful

I love all things pretty. People included, I think that’s why I became a photographer. Whenever I see a beautiful woman, I can’t help but admire and compliment her, every single time. Same thing with cute children. The first thing that comes to my mind is I want to take photos of them. I finally started doing Teen Portraits and boy was it fun. I kept putting it off for a long time as I had to finish doing my website and other photography work. I was so excited for this session. Dalia is such a gorgeous girl and also very charming. Even before the shoot, I could already see she’s going to be photogenic. Guess how old she is?

I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing

My son is turning 10 in August. He’s growing up so fast, sometimes I get surprise when he speaks like an adult then the next minute he does something silly, goofy or completely childish, in addition to that he still sleeps with his stuffed toys. I have to remind myself that he’s not a toddler anymore, somehow my mind is still stuck in seeing him in that age. My mind goes back and forth, he’s still a baby, no he’s a big boy now. Confusing times for mum! A friend of mine said to me once “I bet you couldn’t wait for him to grow up.” Without hesitation I replied, “On the contrary I want to hold on to him being a baby or at least when he’s 5 years old.” I already miss it and he’s not even a teenager yet.
